Tour for Friends is one of the 2 annual cycle expeditions hosted by Team Parikrama. Tour for Friends covers the western and eastern slopes of the Western Ghats or Sahyadri mountain range and is roughly 350+ km on the bike to pedal. If you ever wanted to challenge the athlete in you, this is a wonderful opportunity right now. With Tour for Friends, put your cycling skills, stamina, and endurance to exhibit some of the toughest terrains in Karnataka. 

This carefully curated route map will take you amidst hill ranges, lush green forests, coffee/tea estates, ocean breeze and more importantly, away from the hustle-bustle of city life. Cycling in a place where low human interaction exists apart from your cyclist companions should be a very good motivation for you. As we imagine just how serene and beautiful the experience will be with the sound of the forest and birds flying away just as you zip through their favorite spots. More importantly, your lungs will thank you for gifting them a million breaths of truly fresh air! Experience the best in the toughest of terrains!

We're more than just a destination–We are where Miles meet Smiles. Tour for Friends covers beautiful landscapes of Malnad, a hill station in Karnataka (Western Ghats - A chain of mountains running parallel), home to beautiful peaks and trails of Karnataka through forests leading up to Murdeshwar, Gokarna and ends at Vibhuti falls - home to endemic species on earth. The Tour is a journey and not a race.

 

4 DAYS OF CYCLING TO HEART’S CONTENT!

Day 1. Shimoga>Thirthalli>Augumbe>Seethanadhi.

Day 2. Seethanadhi> Brahmalingeshwara>Annejeri.

Day 3. Annejeri>Murdeshwara>Honnavara>Gokarna. Day 4. Gokarna>Vibuthifalls>Yana Caves.

Day wise Itinerary:

 

Day 0 - Bangalore to Shimoga, road trip by Pvt. Vehicle (12th Feb 2022)

 

Riders arrive at Team Parikrama, House of Adventure, Bangalore (By Themselves).

10:15 AM - Start arriving

10:45 AM - Pre-Tour Briefing.

12:15 PM - Finish lunch and head to start

06:45PM - Reach, Relax and Refresh at Royal Orchid Central Shimoga/Similar accommodation.

07: 45 PM - Finish early Dinner and rest well , Gear up for Day 1 of Tour for Friends.

About the ride:

Shivamogga is considered to be the crown jewel of Sahyadri Mountains of Karnataka. Cycling through these plains you will be mesmerized by the lush green surroundings and perfect tarmac roads making the ride most pleasurable. Make friends with nature along the ride as you pass though some of the best views and canopy of forest trees, explore the less explored. You shall witness the following:

2. Sakrebyle Elephant Camp

3. Mandagadde Bird Sanctuary

4. Thirthahalli

5. Agumbe Rain Forest

Day 2, OMG: Temple Run - 14th Feb 2022:

Seethanadi Nature Camp, Seethanadi to Annejeri Nature Camp.

About the ride:

Take the roads less travelled which leads you to the country side, just pass through the roads with your own thought. Make friends with nature along the ride as you pass though some of the best views and canopy of forest trees explore the less explored. You shall witness the following:

2. Brahmalingeshwara Temple

3. Kollur Mookambika Temple

Day 3, SEAWAYS - 15th Feb 2022: Annejeri Nature Camp,

Annejeri to Tripper Gokarna Beach Resort.

About the ride:

The Ride takes you close to the Coast road that offers you an incredible view of the beaches and the rows of coconut trees keep you cool. Make friends with nature along the ride as you pass though some of the best views and canopy of forest trees, explore the less explored. You shall witness the following:

1. Murudeshwar

2. Honnavar

3. Mirjan Fort

4. Gokarna

Start Point - End Point - Annejeri Nature Camp, Annejeri.

End Point - Tripper Gokarna Beach Resort.

Day 4, Rock & Roll - 16th Feb 2022: Tripper Gokarna Beach Resort to Vibhuthi Falls followed by visit to Yana Caves and a overnight Travel back to Bangalore (By Vehicle).

Make friends with nature along the ride as you pass though some of the best views and canopy of forest trees, explore the less explored. You shall witness the following:

2. Yana Caves

Start Point - End Point - Tripper Gokarna Beach Resort.

End Point - Team Parikrama, House of Adventure,

ADVISORY:

Ø While we try to create luxury - Travel a pleasure on the trip. The locations that we host are remote places and we do our best to arrange the basic facilities. The goal is to be outdoors.

Ø The Food that shall be provided will be Basic Veg - Non Veg Food.

Ø We aim to make our event a ZERO Waste Event - Make use of bin - Put Litter in its place, do not trash your travel.

Ø Team Parikrama shall not be responsible for any of your belongings, valuables, jewelry, etc. Kindly do take care.

Ø In the case of traffic delays or breakdowns, expect a little delay in reaching the destination.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you wish to cancel your registration, you can transfer it to someone else but we will not be able to offer a refund. Further, you can also transfer your registration to next year or any other tour hosted by us.

PACKAGE INCLUDES

Ø Accommodation in the hotels listed or similar venue.

Ø Transportation - entire round trip journey.

Ø (Support Vehicle is as per the itinerary and not at disposal)

Ø  Meals - Daily Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Refreshments as per the itinerary.

Ø All currently applicable taxes i.e. Hotel tax & Transportation tax.

PACKAGE EXCLUDES

Ø Any transport to/from you place of travel to Team Parikrama. Your tour price starts ex - Bangalore.

Ø Air, train, or bus fare from/to your originating city of stay, unless specified.

Ø Items of personal nature viz- tips, porterage, room service, laundry, mineral water, alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages, phone calls, pony/horse rides, additional sightseeing tours/excursions not included in the itinerary, still or video, camera fees, etc.

Ø Any increase in fuel cost, government taxes, entrance fees, intra, and interstate taxes, etc., the tour price will be amended in accordance.

NOTE:

Ø Entries are restricted to a group size of 30 participants only and will be served on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Ø All sightseeing is subject to weather, time and political conditions at the destination.

Ø Guests can expect rain during their stay. Itinerary may be changed according to weather conditions.

Ø The hotel confirmed will be as per the brochure or an alternate hotel of similar category will be provided.

Ø It is mandatory to carry a valid photo identity card (Passport / Aadhaar card / Driving License / Voter ID card).

Ø Hybrid/MTB Cycles are made available to participants on request.

Ø We can assist you with hiring a cycle for the tour at an additional cost of 2,500 INR.
