Embark on an Adventure: A 2-Day Summer Camp for Kids in the Heart of the Western Ghats

Team Parikrama in Association with Mr. Rajesh Bhat presents a summer camp for kids in the Heart of the Western Ghats. The campsite nestled amidst the picturesque Western Ghats lies an opportunity for children to immerse themselves in nature's wonders. A memorable journey where kids will explore the wilderness, learn about wildlife, and engage in exciting activities.

Day 0: Friday

As the sun sets over Bangalore, our journey begins. Gather at designated pick-up points where we'll whisk you away from the city's hustle and bustle at 4:00 PM. Get ready to bid farewell to urban life and embrace the upcoming adventure!

Day 1: Saturday

Rise and shine to the golden rays of the morning sun, welcoming a day filled with breathtaking vistas of the Western Ghats. After a nourishing breakfast, embark on an enriching visit to the Sakrebyle elephant camp. Led by Dhiraj & Raj, Co-founders of Team Parikrama, children will learn about elephant behavior, conservation efforts, and more, while observing these majestic creatures up close.

Next, we journey to Tunga Dam, where our expert Mr. Rajesh Bhat, a beloved teacher will enlighten young minds about water bodies' significance through an interactive model. Return to camp for a delicious lunch, followed by leisure time or games.

In the evening, set off on a nature walk amidst the verdant surroundings, with the chance to spot exotic bird species at Mandagadde Bird Sanctuary, guided by wildlife photographer and storyteller, Mandagadde Nataraj. 

Physics in Nature, an experiential learning event: As dusk falls, gather for a mesmerizing stargazing session with Mr. Rajesh Bhat, who will address students with an interesting topic with the theme of "Learning by doing". 

Day 2: Sunday

Gear up for an early morning trek led by local guide Mr. Vinod, a farmer and wildlife enthusiast. Explore the lush trails and soak in the serenity of nature. Return to camp for breakfast and moments of reflection.

Venture to a nearby farm to gain insights into fruit cultivation techniques, including exotic varieties like Drago and passion fruit. Conclude the experience with another nature walk, appreciating the diverse birdlife.

After an early dinner, embark on the overnight journey back to Bangalore, arriving by 6:00 AM.

While we aim for a comfortable travel experience, please note that the locations we visit are remote, and we provide basic facilities. Our goal is to be outdoors and embrace nature.
